The Creator of Claude Code on Desktop Leaves Anthropic

He created Claude Code on desktop, he says, because he believes “everyone can be a builder.” Every feature request and bug report from the community was a gift, he writes.

Walking away from his best friends, the product and the mission was “the hardest thing I’ve done in my career.” He is “already itching” to get back to user feedback and will share what is next soon.

@addyosmani thanked him for “an amazing run” and said many people love CCD. Saturday’s edition reported Thariq’s departure from Anthropic after more than a year on Claude Code.
