@mattpocockuk Wants a Sensible Definition of Spec-Driven Development

Specs go to the issue tracker, ADRs stay in the repo, and /grill-me asks one question at a time.

Reeling SDD back in.

“How would you define spec-driven development?” @mattpocockuk asks. “Semantic diffusion has hit SDD hard, let’s try and reel it back in to a sensible definition.”

Specs in the tracker, ADRs in the repo.

ADRs are great in a repo, he writes, because they are explicitly describing things the code can’t. “So I think specs are bad in a repo, but ADR’s are good.” Asked where specs go, he says the issue tracker, then closed when complete.

Two commands for fuzzy work.

He still sometimes says “/grill-me about this, one question at a time,” usually when he really has no idea what he is building and the problem is hugely underspecified. He uses /wayfinder as an escape valve when a task will obviously take more than one session to plan.
