Anthropic’s Jason Clinton: It Gets Worse Before It Gets Better

A warning to security leaders.

His advice: “security leaders, never let a crisis go to waste: please go to your boards and ask for help right now. not for ai, for the basics. (we need to hold on for ~18 months.)”

An arms race, @kimmonismus says.

“I am anything but a doomer,” @kimmonismus writes. “However, the current situation seems serious.” In a separate post he calls it a paradox: AI-powered attacks could accelerate AI itself. The faster attackers exploit vulnerabilities, the more pressure to use AI for defense and close gaps accumulated over decades. Offense and defense drive one another forward, he writes. “Its going to accelerate, not slowing down.”
