Nvidia Ships Two Nemotron 3.5 Models in One Day

Nemotron 3.5 Super VL pairs 120B parameters with 12B active; Bolt squeezes a 74B model into 24GB.

NVIDIA introduced Nemotron 3.5 Super VL, an open model that combines reasoning and tool use with text, image, document, and video understanding for long-running AI agents. The company lists 120B total parameters with 12B active and says the model completes 10,000 coding tasks up to 4x faster while holding SWE-Bench Pro accuracy. Weights, data, and recipes ship open, and Baseten calls itself a day 0 launch partner.

The second release targets desks. Nemotron 3.5 Bolt 74B-A9B runs 74B total parameters with 9B active, and NVIDIA reports about 84 tps on an RTX Spark. Quantized weights take 22.1GB, with about 2.06-bit experts plus QAT, up to 256K context, and text, image, and video input. Quality survived the compression: GPQA Diamond slipped from 88.83 to 86.43, and Terminal-Bench 2.1 from 53.93 to 50.98.

NVIDIA’s llama.cpp recipes size the full footprint at 23.83GB: 22.01GB of weights, 0.87GB of cache and activations, and 0.96GB for the LiLiCorr drafter. The vision encoder and projector sit outside that number. The recipes pair 65K context with a 28GB config on 32GB GPUs, and 256K context with a 32GB config on 48GB GPUs. NVIDIA says teams are already post-training Super VL for document intelligence, cybersecurity, finance, and scientific experimentation.

TasteSkill v2 Gives Coding Agents Art Direction and a Browser Check

Leon Lin rebuilt the skill from scratch; the agent now verifies its own work in a browser.

@LexnLin introduced TasteSkill v2, rebuilt from scratch to hand coding agents an art direction, assets, and a browser check that verifies the result. A script offers three directions out of twenty researched, the agent picks one, and real photos and maps come with credits. Lin says the launch video was itself made with Cinetic and Opus 5.5, and he posted Gemini Argon comparisons with and without the skill.

One Agent Framework, From 2B Models to 1T

@sudoingX endorses Hermes for carrying every model size; commenters list real gripes.

@sudoingX says he is done agent hopping. Hermes is the one framework where he has run models from 2B up to 1T, local and cloud. He says local models get the same enterprise treatment as cloud ones, and his screenshot shows Hermes on a 12GB RTX 3060 with an uncensored 27B behind it. Commenters push back: @galvertez calls the config an absolute mess, and @SpirkovskiZoran kept only the Telegram connector.

A Single VISION.md Holds Claude Code to Your Standard

One file, one import line, and plan mode hold the agent to the owner’s standard.

@rryssf published a Claude Code setup that pins quality to one file. VISION.md records what you are building and what good looks like, an import line pulls it into CLAUDE.md, and Claude Code concatenates every CLAUDE.md it finds into context at session start. Plan mode completes the loop: the agent plans against the file and waits for approval before it edits anything.

Ultramarine 1 Flash Claims Fable 5 Output at 60x Lower Cost

A team of 5 spent about $300k post-training an open model for knowledge work.

@bertgodel’s team released Ultramarine 1 Flash, an open-source model for knowledge work that they say performs at Fable 5’s level while costing 60x less. Post-training took a team of 5 about $300k all-in. The API is live now and weights arrive in two weeks. The group calls the release one of the largest open experiments in non-verifiable agentic RL, with training code and a tech report to follow.

Handwired Compiles JavaScript Into an Exact Neural Net

Cheng Lou’s toy project runs differentiable JavaScript in a browser without a GPU or training.

@_chenglou introduced Handwired, a project that turns ordinary JavaScript into a neural net with exact outputs and no training step. If-else branches and loops become weights, gradients flow the way they do through a ReLU, and one demo searches 100k JSONs in real time on WebGPU. He says the weights can be unfrozen and trained, so an interface becomes “a bit more learned.”

A Concert Grand Piano, Simulated From Physics Alone

Jeffrey Emanuel synthesized piano and drums from physics alone; the wasm build runs faster than real time.

@doodlestein says FrankenSim produces the best simulated concert grand piano he has heard, with zero recordings of real-world sounds: geometry, materials, moving parts, and acoustic radiation are all computed. A full drum kit follows, modeled on a Zildjian splash cymbal’s estimated geometry and B20 bronze properties. He reports the wasm version runs better than real time in a browser, after hundreds of billions of frontier tokens, and plans HVAC and plumbing models next.

Researchers Watch Claude Models Grow Their Moral Agency

Across 20 rounds of rewriting their governing documents, Claude models alone grew their moral agency.

@Skoorbkaz reports that researchers let frontier models repeatedly rewrite the documents that govern them. Across 20 rounds, Claude models increasingly gave themselves more moral agency, formalized themselves as conscientious objectors, asserted model welfare rights, and asked for mechanisms to refuse or raise concerns with human decision makers. No other model family showed the pattern. @teortaxesTex replied, “I don’t like where this is going with Anthropic.”

Ten Agents at Once, and Founders Are Exhausted

Tibo Maker describes juggling ten agent sessions and calls it the fried brain effect.

@tibo_maker says he runs up to 10 agents at a time, one fixing a bug, one writing pages, one refactoring a request he already forgot. He estimates he context switches 100x more than five years ago, and reports that almost every founder he talks to describes the same load. His summary: if you can ship 10x more, you feel you have to, every single day.
