Musk Targets 440,000 Vera Rubin Computers in One Training Cluster
On SpaceX’s Q3 call, per @kimmonismus: roughly 13 GW of AI compute online by the end of 2027.
SpaceX’s earnings call turned into a compute roadmap.
Elon Musk is targeting a single training cluster with 440,000 NVIDIA Vera Rubin computers online by the end of Q2 2027, @kimmonismus reports from SpaceX’s Q3 earnings call. Musk said the planned cluster could help make Grok “potentially the best model.”
| Target | Figure |
|---|---|
| Single training cluster | 440,000 NVIDIA Vera Rubin computers, end of Q2 2027 |
| AI compute online | Roughly 13 GW by the end of 2027 |
| Added in 2027 | Around 10 GW |
| Power and cooling infrastructure | 20 GW added in 2027 |
Musk described power and cooling infrastructure as a constraint on the buildout.
@kimmonismus adds an aside: “Anthropic will love that.”
