Matt Pocock’s Personal Wiki Becomes Business Infrastructure
Three months in, a self-built LLM wiki makes “agents that run my business” viable.
Pocock built his own agent memory, and he says owning it is the point.
Three months on, Matt Pocock says his personal wiki has become critical infrastructure for his business. It “hugely enriches” his courses and makes “agents that run my business” actually viable.
Asked what it is, he says it is “just a Karpathy-style LLM wiki.” He is “very, very glad” he built it himself: “Relying on a vendor for memory feels like a recipe for lock-in.”
His rules for where project documents live.
| Document | Where it goes |
|---|---|
| Specs and PRDs | Never in the repo |
| ADRs | Yes, keep them |
| Everything else | GitHub issues, which close when they are done |
He adds a reminder he has repeated in replies: “Modules !== Files.” Coming from TypeScript, where any file can be imported freely, he suggests a script such as dependency-cruiser to restrict imports and exports to certain paths.
