HyperFlow Cuts MiniMax H3 Video From 49 Steps to 8
Video Rebirth’s open-source add-on runs about 3x faster; a 175-second clip now takes about 60.
An open-source add-on makes an existing video model about 3x faster.
Video Rebirth just open-sourced HyperFlow, a speed-up for the MiniMax H3 video model, @kimmonismus reports. It cuts generation from 49 steps to 8 and runs about 3x faster, with sound generated alongside the video.
HyperFlow is an add-on for MiniMax H3 rather than a new model. It keeps the same workflows and replaces the 49-step schedule with a trained 8-step one.
| Measure | Before | With HyperFlow |
|---|---|---|
| Generation steps | 49 | 8 |
| Clip time on Video Rebirth’s benchmark | About 175 seconds | About 60 seconds |
| Speed | Baseline | About 3x faster |
Does quality hold? From what @kimmonismus saw, yes.
He tested three very different prompts. Characters keep the same face and outfit from shot to shot, lighting changes stay smooth, and fine textures like fabric, water and mist keep their detail. The audio lines up well with what is on screen.
Fast action holds up too: movement stays smooth, and lighting, smoke and metal keep their detail in busy scenes. He calls it “a solid result for an open-source release.”
