Codex and Work Now Keep Prompt Caches Forever

The API gets 12-hour caching; @kimmonismus calls it a big upgrade for long coding sessions.

No more penalty for taking a break.

Tibo (@thsottiaux) says the API can now cache for 12h. For logged-in users across Codex & Work, the cache is kept forever. He writes that “you don’t have any penalty for coming back to an old conversation or resuming after a few hours and are now guaranteed to hit the cache.”

Why it matters for coding.

@kimmonismus calls it a big upgrade for long coding sessions. You can leave a large project conversation, come back hours or days later, and reuse the cached context without losing the benefit because you took a break.
